Anyway, the article was titled: This Is Why Reading Is So Important for Your Brain, written by Marc Peyser and it had some interesting findings.

Scripture reference: John 5:1-18

Today, we are talking about part 2 of the episode, “Do You Wanna Be Made Whole?” (episode #42) by Apostle Bernard Boulton. If you haven’t listened to part 1, it’s number 41 and I would suggest you go back and listen to part 1 first. In part 1, Apostle Bernard goes into what an apostle is opposed to a pastor, he speaks in detail about his background of being a pastor, his bout with depression, and how he came to be who he is today, which is a husband, father, a biblical historian, prophet, author, speaker, mentor, and a spiritual and business coach.

The book centers around 4 main characters with Pastor Maxwell being the main characters. It about the interesting twists and turns of their lives. The book starts out with Theo Dexter, a successful owner of a construction company, who finds out his wife is cheating on him; Dr. Adam Jones, a college professor with a roving eye towards anything with a skirt; Michael Cain, a world renowned evangelist who suffers from depression after the death of his wife and the twins she was carrying; and finally, Pastor Maxwell, the mentor and spiritual advisor to the 3 men.
Some of the issues the book tackles are:
• Friendship
• Fame
• Forgiveness
• Prayer
• Racism
• Adultery
• Unforgiveness
• Fornication
• Depression
• Family dysfunction
• Suicidal thoughts
• Church hurt
• Poverty
• Wealth
• And other issues

Also in this episode, Apostle Bernard talks about his coaching call about dysfunctional families and how to get breakthroughs in the area of family dynamics. This episode (#42) was recorded, July 5th, but Apostle and I make reference to Apostle Bernard’s coaching call, which was July 6th. and before episode #42 was published. For those of you who missed it, Apostle Bernard may have a replay or another coaching call about family dysfunction. Please visit his website and stay connected to find out more about how you can be helped by his training.

This is an interview with Apostle Bernard Boulton about his book, "Do You Wanna Be Made Whole?" If you're looking for godly knowledge and wisdom, Apostle Bernard has it. In addition to being an apostle, he is a husband, father, a biblical historian, prophet, author, speaker, mentor, and a spiritual and business coach. His book, "Do You Wanna Be Made Whole?" delves into topics like: friendship, fame, forgiveness racism, prayer, adultery, unforgiveness, fornication, depression, family dysfunction, suicidal thoughts, church hurt, poverty, wealth, and even more. It was a book I could not put down. I saw myself, my friends, and my family all throughout it. You will, as well. At the end, I felt a sense of refreshing, renewal, and wholeness. You will too.

'Besides protection, fasting unleashes power upon your life. Those who will the call to fasting and do it in secret will fast-forward their misfit-to-kingship process. God seems to accelerate what He is doing in one's life when a person fasting' (Casto, page 190).

Casto says, on page 191, that the purpose of fasting "is for us to humble ourselves under God's hand." And Matthew 23:12 says, "For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." Fasting helps us with humility. Another way of putting it is, "we decrease as God increases" or "God must become greater; we must become less. (John 3:30).

"We are living in a moment in history when we as believers have an opportunity unlike in any other generation to shine in the midst of darkness. In order to do this, we will need a remnant of people who will refuse the popular, lukewarm church culture and embrace the "do it in secret" lifestyle that brings misfits in kingship" (Casto, page 171). This chapter is about giving. It's about giving in secret or private and that can mean anything. It can mean our stories, it can mean tangible things. It runs the gamut.

In Matthew 6:21 Jesus said, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." And Matthew 6:3/4, which says,  "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."
